Clone items

Clone

You can make a copy of existing objects using the Clone tool.

This is especially useful for quickly creating a lot of copies of an object around the scene, e.g. trees, rocks etc by grabbing and cloning the object.

Clone selected objects

One way to use Clone is to clone existing selections.

  1. Select the objects (to clone) by enabling the Select tool and clicking on them with the main trigger.
  2. Press and hold the Clone Clone button on the main controller.

This will create one copy of the selected objects, at a small distance from the original objects. You can then grab and move them to a different location.

Grab and 1-click clone

Another way is to grab an object, and clone it several times while moving the main controller. This is a powerful way to quickly create a lot of copies around the scene, e.g. trees, rocks etc.

  1. Grab the item (to clone) using the main squeeze button.
  2. Press and release the Clone Clone button on the main controller. This will instantly create a clone.
  3. Move the main controller (while grabbing the object).

Optionally press the Clone button again to create more instant clones at the controller's location.

  4. Finally, release the main squeeze button at the desired location.

Bonus tips:

  1. You can also resize the grabbed object before cloning it, to create variations of the objects.
  2. You can clone multiple items by pre-selecting them using the Select tool and then grabbing any one of them.
