Clone items
You can make a copy of existing objects using the Clone
tool.
This is especially useful for quickly creating a lot of copies of an object around the scene, e.g. trees, rocks etc by grabbing and cloning the object.
Clone selected objects
One way to use Clone
is to clone existing selections.
- Select the objects (to clone) by enabling the Select tool and clicking on them with the main
trigger
. - Press and hold the
Clone
button on the main controller.
This will create one copy of the selected objects, at a small distance from the original objects. You can then grab and move them to a different location.
Grab and 1-click clone
Another way is to grab an object, and clone it several times while moving the main controller. This is a powerful way to quickly create a lot of copies around the scene, e.g. trees, rocks etc.
- Grab the item (to clone) using the main
squeeze
button. - Press and release the
Clone
button on the main controller. This will instantly create a clone. -
Move the main controller (while grabbing the object).
Optionally press the
Clone
button again to create more instant clones at the controller's location. -
Finally, release the main
squeeze
button at the desired location.
Bonus tips:
- You can also resize the grabbed object before cloning it, to create variations of the objects.
- You can clone multiple items by pre-selecting them using the Select tool and then grabbing any one of them.
