You can add text in the scene quickly using the Text tool. This allows you to click and add Text objects in the scene, which you can edit, resize and move around like regular objects.
The created Text object can be edited further in the Properties panel of Blender's desktop view, for e.g. to change the font or spacing.
This is useful for labeling objects in the scene, making notes, or just adding text to your scene.
Activate the tool
Point at the main menu, and click on the
Text tool using your main hand's trigger button.
Add Text
- Click the main
triggerbutton where you want the Text object to be placed. - Then type the text that you want using your keyboard.
- To stop editing, click outside anywhere using the
triggerbutton (or press theOBJECTbutton in the main menu).
Edit Text
- Use the
Selecttool to select an existingTextobject. - Click the
EDITbutton in the main menu. - Start typing or editing using your keyboard.
- To stop editing, click outside anywhere using the
triggerbutton (or press theOBJECTbutton in the main menu).
Move/Resize Text objects
Text objects are regular Blender objects, which means you can use the Select tool to grab, resize and move them like any other object.

The created Text object can be edited further in the Properties panel of Blender's desktop view, for e.g. to change the font or spacing.
