Get Freebird

System Requirements

• Blender 3.0 (or newer). Please don't use Blender 5.0.1 (it has a bug which crashes VR)
• Virtual Reality headset: Oculus Rift / Oculus Quest (with Link or AirLink) / HTC Vive / Valve Index / HTC Vive Cosmos / HTC Vive Focus 3 / Windows MR / HP Reverb G2 / Pico.
• PC compatible with your Virtual Reality headset.

Installation

1. Get Freebird from here, and download the zip file.

2. In Blender 3.0 (or newer), open Edit > Preferences > Add-ons, and click Install... and select the downloaded zip file. Please don't use Blender 5.0.1 (it has a bug which crashes VR)

   

3. A new button called Start VR will be visible in the right side of the 3D View. It'll be above the colorful XYZ axis gizmo.

   

4. Click Start VR to enter the VR mode, and Stop VR to stop it. Please don't use Blender 5.0.1 (it has a bug which crashes VR)

Hand Preference

If you're left-handed, you can switch between right and left-handed controls.

1. Open Freebird Settings

   

2. Change the Main Hand setting to your preferred main hand. E.g. "left" if you're left-handed.
